Since 2012, I have naturally turned to photography, a medium that complements painting, which is entirely part of my research. It is like collages, it must be linked to the world of communication and journalism in which I grew up: newspapers, words, photos...
From an element that has been photographed a thousand times, I create a fog in the crucible of my collage materials and my paint, pushing the pure image backwards, drawing to the front of the stage what this image contains of mystery.
Then, by "inverting" my technique, I made a series of black and white photos, on which I introduced colour through pigments, varnishes and inks. Bridges, trees or landscapes disappear slightly under the colour.
I make these "overpaintings" whose photographic work is the fruit of several journeys, of a long journey. They are single prints, halfway between photography and painting.
In 2020, the Taylor Foundation awarded me the Monique Corpet Prize for my work of painting on photographs.
