Luca MASSELLI

Luca Masselli is an Artist, graphic designer, and illustrator. He was born in Figline Valdarno, where he still lives and works. He has never attended a real Art school; after obtaining a technical sales and advertising diploma, he studies painting with Massimo Callossi and Elisa Brunello, famous painters of the Florentine area. In the meantime, he attended courses at the BSMT Academy of Bologna in dance, singing, acting, and set design. In 2010 he returned to Tuscany and he started collaborating with many galleries such as the "Simultanea Gallery" in Florence and the "IAC Gallery" in Impruneta, Florence. He qualified as a finalist at the "Premio Firenze" for three consecutive years (2013, 2014 and 2015) and he was one of the winners of the "All Arts Award" in 2014. After graduating as Visual Merchandiser at Polimoda in 2014, in 2016 he also dedicated himself to creating a line of t-shirts with his prints and some unique hand-painted pieces. In 2020 he participated in the group exhibition "Domani in Arte", at the "Galleria d'Arte Moderna" in Rome and, again in Rome in 2022, participated in the group exhibition "L'Arte si Mostra" at Palazzo Ferrajoli. In 2023 he had the opportunity to preview some paintings, related to his project "Tarot", in galleries such as the Thomson Gallery in Zurich and the Casa del Arte in Palma de Mallorca; also in 2023 exhibited some works in the context of the Artexpo Basel. Still related to the "Tarot" project, his first book containing all his Tarot cards was published in Italy in December; these Tarot pictures will be the protagonists of the exhibition which will be held from 2 to 10 March at the OnArt Gallery in Florence.

The idea was born from my passion for Tarot, which led me to paint on canvas the twenty-two major arcana as I have always imagined them; wanting to give a broader and more contemporary vision of it, in parallel, I also developed a version drawn with Photoshop. All this has given rise to a merchandising section including a graphic part, a product part and the book, “La Via del Re” already published in Italy, in which I tell about my encounter with these mysterious creatures.
